Day 2 and on our way.

Thursday night, we planned on an early, quiet evening. At around 3pm the first of family and good friends arrived to say farewell, and after a few beers and more than a few bottles of wine later, the last departed well after 9.

We had planned on a 6am start, ha, as if that was going to happen!  We pulled out of town just on 8, which was pretty acceptable.

We had actually planned to leave 3 weeks earlier, and visit some old friends at Sanctuary Point and then north of Sydney, on the way up to collect our new van at Caloundra.
However all good plans are there to be broken, and we therefore now have limited time to get to Caloundra.

Yesterday we drove to Cann River, and stayed the night there. Bloody freezing at -1 degree over night.
Early his morning we drove up the Monaro highway in thick fog. As we reached the high-plains there were short breaks where we had glimpses of the alps covered in fresh snow.

We cruised past the old stomping ground of Bombala, where i spent many a day trout fishing with good mates.

Onto Nimmitable, breaky at Cooma, got lost in Canberra, who would think you could get lost in Canberra?

Finally we reached the Hume and swung a lefty and headed for Cowra. As we arrived there at around 3 we decided to continue to Forbes, where we are tonight. Just over 1000klm in 2 days which is a pretty good effort.

Tomorrow? Who knows and who cares, we will keep going until we feel like a break, may ever stop off at Parkes and have a look at the Dish

Cheers for now.

Hi Timbo! We always stop at Parkes and have the music from The Dish playing at a decent volume as well. Looking forward to reading about your adventures. Toodles. Sue.
